A sign that life is gradually resuming its normal course, despite the recent rebound in the number of cases, the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge will now take on the colors of the rainbow only for one hour on Sunday.
The most used bridge in Canada will be illuminated on Sundays between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., half an hour earlier than before, throughout September.
Federal Minister of Infrastructure Catherine McKenna explained in a press release that these adjustments were made to take into account the economic recovery.
Since March, the structure has been illuminated in a rainbow almost every evening, like the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and other buildings across the country.
The rainbow has become a symbol of resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic with the slogan “It's going to be fine”.
