Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the case of journalist Ivan Golunova has yet to perform, reports TASS. He called to wait for the results of the investigation.
“The resonance of this case contributed to the fact that this case drew the attention of all” – said Peskov.
According to him, it is too early to make any judgments about the need for reform in internal Affairs bodies. “To generalize the situation based on one thing, it would probably be wrong,” – said the representative of the Kremlin.
At the same time, said Peskov, President Vladimir Putin is ready to consider the idea of changing the criminal liability for drug crimes, if such
a proposal will be formulated and will go to him. “Consider abstract initiatives in the field of legislation is not possible, they should be specifically formulated,” added the spokesman.
Putin on Thursday signed a decree about the dismissal of two generals because of the case Golunova – head of UVD po ZAO major-General Andrei Puchkov and the head of Department on control over drug trafficking of the MIA of Moscow the General-the major Yury Devyatkina.
The journalist the Internet-editions “Medusa” was detained in Moscow on 6 June. With him, and in his rented apartment allegedly drugs were found. Golunova was accused of attempt of sale, the court sent him under house arrest. The journalist denied guilt. This case has caused a wide public resonance.
