It is not yet known how the women will fit into the lives of the main characters Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Miranda Hobbs (Nixon) and Charlotte York (Davis), but the show’s executive producer Michael Patrick King welcomed them into the cast.
He said, “Everyone at And Just Like That … is thrilled that these amazing and vibrant actors have joined the Sex and the City family.
“Each of them will add their own unique spark and big heart to these new characters and stories that we are about to tell.”
Kim Cattrall will not be starring in the revival series, as Samantha Jones and HBO Max said her absence would reflect “real life stages” where friends often drift apart.
The streamer’s chief content manager Casey Blues said, “They’re not trying to say these characters are reliving their 30s. This is pretty much a story about women in their 50s and they deal with the things that people face in their 50s.
“In real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships disappear and new friendships emerge. So I think that all of this is very indicative of real stages, real stages of life … They are trying to tell a true story. about being a 50-year-old woman from New York. So everything should feel somewhat organic, and the friends you have when you are 30 you may not have when you are 50 ”.
