Researchers said they found the earliest known evidence of human presence outside Africa. Reported by the BBC.
“Stone tools, discovered in China, suggest that primitive people — or close relatives — was in the region of 2.12 million years ago”, — stated in the message.
Stone artifacts were discovered in Sunchine on a plateau in Northern China.
They are about 270 thousand years older than the previous earliest evidence was found in Georgia.
The artifacts include different types of stone tools, built for different purposes.
“Most of them were made from quartzite and quartz rocks that were probably derived from the foothills of the Qinling, 5-10 kilometers South of the excavations,” — said in the message.
