Experts from the Netherlands say that diet is more effective than exercise. The scientific staff of the University of Groningen presented the results of new research in the journal Frontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, reports Rus.Media.

Representatives of the scientific community have found that in specific areas of the brain there are inflammatory processes. Cells of the immune system (macrophages) are in this process, the main destroyers. They engulf foreign agents and dead cells.

It turned out that the most effective way to reduce the activity of microglia in the brain associated with aging and obesity, diet low in fat and calories. Physical activity would not achieve a successful outcome.

“Running wheel had no impact on older rodents,” said the experts from Groningen University.
