In January-September 2019 sea ports of Ukraine increase cargo transshipment by 19.4% – to 114.5 million tonnes.
It is reported by the CTS with reference to information of the administration of seaports of Ukraine.
More than half of the total volume of cargo passed through the ports of Ukraine for the period amounted to grain and ore. In particular, for the first 9 months of this year ports handled more than 37.6 million tonnes of grain – 36.9% more than the same period of 2018.
Second place in volume went to the transshipment of ore: for 9 months the ports handled 26,987 million tonnes, 32% more than the same period last year.
In addition, for a specified period by an average of 10% increase in the transshipment of chemical and mineral fertilizers and liquid cargo (oil and oil products, oil and other).
According to ASD, 9 months, the trend growth of container handling – it increased by 21% to 713 thousand TEU.
The basis for the positive dynamics of transshipment of export goods remain. So, for 9 months of 2019 transshipment of export cargo grew by 23.5% to 86,269 million tons, the Volume of transshipment of imported cargo increased by 13%, to 18,646 million tons, Handling of transit cargo in Ukrainian seaports in January-September grew by 2.4% compared to the same period last year and reached 8,181 million tonnes.
Leaders on volumes of for 9 months have 4 ports which handled more than 87% of all goods. Traditionally, the list was headed by the Pivdenny port, which handled more than 38.5 million tons, 28.4% more than in the same period of 2018. The port of Nikolaev handled more than 23.8 million tonnes (+20.4 per cent), Black – 18.8 million tons (+24.3 percent), Odessa – more than 18.1 million tonnes (+17.5 per cent).
In just 9 months of sea ports of Ukraine processed 8733 vessel, which is 0.7% or 59 units more than in the same period last year. Most of the vessels handled in the port of Izmail – 2658, in the second place, the port of Nikolaev with 1305 are processed by the courts, and the third for 9 months, took the port of Chernomorsk – 1123 vessel.
With the large increase in ship calls over the period was observed in the ports of Olbia (+31,7%), Black (+20,2%) and Kherson (+15,7%).
As reported by the CTS, in January-August 2019 ports of Ukraine exceeded 100 million tons of cargo, increasing its handling in comparison with the similar period of 2018 to 19%.
