Less than a week after the killing spree that has made a score of deaths in Nova Scotia, the authorities were again on high alert on Friday after receiving several emergency calls reporting gunfire, not far from Halifax.
In the late afternoon, the royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) said on its Twitter account that its agents were in a wooded area between Haliburton Hills and the neighborhood to Highland Park to investigate a complaint about gunfire”.
“We ask residents to stay inside their homes,” wrote the RCMP Nova Scotia on Twitter.
The operation began a little before 14 h and was still running at 15: 45.
The police authorities, however, have not confirmed whether shots were indeed fired. No casualties have yet been reported.
Remember that the end of last week, the Nova Scotia was the scene of the worst mass murder in the history of the country. In total, 22 people were killed, including a teenage girl of 17 years and a police experience with the RCMP.
The shooter was eventually gunned down by the forces of the order at the end of its long run deadly.
