The City of Quebec will host a snow removal operation in all five boroughs, in the night of Sunday to Monday, to ensure adequate circulation on the different arteries.
The biggest winter storm of the year has left traces on the roads of the national capital on Friday. After she had received 35 to 50 cm of snow, depending on the sectors, déneigeurs were quickly put to contribution.
However, since the storm, only the neighbourhoods of the city centre, in the south of the Saint-Charles river and to the east of the avenue Painchaud, had a operation of snow transport.
“It’s really to allow for the conduct of the activities of the Carnival. It is in the agreement that it has with the organisers to clear the tracks, ” explains the spokesperson of the City of Quebec, Rose-Marie Ayotte.
All streets scraped
The streets of the other boroughs have been scraped, provides Ms. Ayotte, but no loading to the depot in snow – no snow or tree removal operation has been performed.
This decision was taken in order to avoid creating discontent among the citizens, who are more often on the road on Saturday evening.
Recall that during the removal operations, the parking of cars in streets where the lights are flashing is prohibited. This will enable workers to properly clear the streets.
