The users of the suburban train line to Candiac need to continue to take their evil in patience, Monday, exo has confirmed that its service will be interrupted due to the blockade of the Canadian Pacific railway in Kahnawake.
“Because of the presence of protesters in the vicinity of the Canadian Pacific railway (CP), the termination of the service of trains on the line exo4 Candiac continues. The shuttle buses are maintained for the Monday 17 February, and until further order,” said the transport agency on Sunday.
Commuters Roussillon will be able to turn on a thirty bus that will make round-trips between the stations in Candiac, Delson, Saint-Constant and Sainte-Catherine, and the terminus Mansfield, Montreal.
“All efforts are being made by teams of exo in order to ensure an alternative service and to accompany its customers during the disturbance,” assured the manager of the suburban trains.
CP are blocked in Kahnawake since the weekend of 8-9 February. Last week, no commuter train was unable to move on the line Candiac.
The protesters wish to demonstrate their solidarity with the members of the First Nation, b.c. Wet’suwet’en, who oppose the pipeline project Coastal GasLink.
In addition, VIA Rail has indicated that its routes Montreal-Toronto Ottawa-Toronto-Kingston-Toronto remain suspended due to the blockade on the territory of the mohawk nation of Tyendinaga, near Belleville, Ontario.
As of the date of Sunday, VIA Rail had to cancel 409 trains, affecting approximately 83 000 passengers.
