At the monument to Alexander Pushkin in Tashkent hosted a poetry event dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the poet, the press service of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan.
“6 June 2019 Russian centre of science and culture in Tashkent with the participation of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Union of writers of the Republic and of the Committee on international relations of friendly relations with foreign countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian cultural centre held a poetry event at the monument to Alexander Pushkin, dedicated to the day of his birth”, – stated in the message.
Distinguished guests noted that the work of the great poet has a high importance for the development of intercultural relations of the two countries for the peoples of Russia and Uzbekistan.
During the event, Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev and head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the country Viktor Shulika awarded the diplomas of teachers of Russian language schools and universities of the Republic and winners of international competitions in the Russian language.
The press service noted that the celebrations held in Andijan, Nukus, Samarkand, Bukhara, reflecting the unity of cultural values of the peoples of the two countries.
