How often do you shower? Most likely, your answer is every day. We all got used to it, and 10 minutes in the shower every day, sometimes even twice a day is in order. Only this is fundamentally a wrong habit. Of course, good hygiene is necessary to watch and of this fact no one denies, but to wash every day it doesn’t need.
Edition Of “So Easy!” will tell you why it is impossible to wash every day and what this means for our health.
Can I take a shower
A little figures to start. Just think, one shower takes about 60 liters of water. If the heater is used, the flow rate is increased three times. Taking a bath is 200 liters. If you calculate a family of four who shower every day, consumes approximately 25 cubic meters of water every year.
With current prices for electricity and water it costs a lot of money. Except that it hurts our pocket, it’s also detrimental to the environment. People who often take a shower, are responsible for emissions of 3.5 tons of carbon dioxide. But the norm for one person is 1 ton and it is in the light of all life.
Someone will say that it doesn’t matter, because showering every day is necessary. But this is not true, and there is medical justification. Dermatologists believe that no child should be bathed every day, because this reduces the skin’s ability to fight bacteria. They argue that the early engagement with the dirt and makes the skin less susceptible to infections and can even prevent the development of eczema.
We all love a variety of bath products: Soaps, gels, etc. Doctors claim that frequent use of soap leads to the loss of sebum and destroys useful bacteria. It contributes to the development of dermatitis. The same situation with the shampoo. If you wash your hair constantly, it also depletes the protective layer of fat hair dries and destroys the skin. This leads to the appearance of dandruff.
What do you think, who benefits from the fact that we wash so often and use so many cleaners? Of course, companies that produce these products. Sounds exaggerated, but a rule to shower every day imposed cultural norm and it is not necessary. Hygiene is important and to neglect it is not worth it, but, according to scientists-hygienists, you don’t even have to use soap. With the sweat and smell it can handle regular water.
A large part of our body is hidden under clothes and not in contact with the environment, respectively, they do not require daily washing, so even with soap. Undoubtedly, certain parts of the body (armpits, intimate areas, legs) require daily hygiene for obvious reasons. And, of course, hands. They need to constantly wash and soap.
In fact, there are no clear rules when and how much a person needs to bathe. It all depends on his lifestyle, climate, and the anatomical features. The more physical the activity, the more often you need to wash.
In General, a short warm shower a couple times a week to cope with maintaining the health of the body (in that case, if you observe hygiene of armpits and intimate areas). All individually, but zealous with the water treatment is not necessary, as with hygiene.
