When we speak of the cult film, it doesn’t take long to get on the case of The Addams Family. A real institution in the United States, the troupe macabre has not said its last word, and intend to animate our future days.

If in France the majority of children has discovered The Addams Family on the occasion of the first film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, in 1992, the United States, the joyous troop occupies the minds for almost 50 years, from the time that Charles Addams has decided to put the scene in the short comic-strip. Proud defenders of a way of life shifted and cheerfully morbid, The Addams Family has experienced many variations since then, in between sets tv, movies, cartoons, plays, video games and even musical comedy.

While, just the music which is devoted to him occurs in Paris at the time when we write these lines, it is suspected that the brown family was not to remain long in the closet Hollywood, especially at a time when the studios prefer to look backward rather than to widen the head to give us original ideas.

We will therefore not be surprised by learning through Variety that a new film based on The Addams Family is currently in the project. That said, little originality, it will not be a feature-length live but beautiful and well of a work animated. Produced by MGM, the project is expected to stick closer to the original spirit and it comes even to find a director because the studio has just announced that it was Conrad Vernon, the co-director of the excellent Sausage Party , which will take care of it.

For the moment, no detail has filtered out the screenplay for the film, the voice cast, or even a hypothetical release date, but we can expect to hear from her very quickly, all that preparing from the outset to discover a show with a strong focus towards the family audience. As the gallows humour is still there, we don’t have nothing to say.
