The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on March 13 approved a bill on the reform of secondary education.
The corresponding project was presented by the Minister of education and science, Liliya Hrynevych, informs Rus.Media.
The reform envisages introduction of the so-called individual educational trajectories for children with disabilities or homeschooled. Such students are encouraged to develop an individual training plan and conduct annual assessments to confirm the level of knowledge.
Also the Ministry of education proposes to introduce the choice of school subjects at will. It is assumed that after the reform, schools will receive miclyn group to study certain subjects.
In addition, the reform provides for enhanced autonomy for teachers in developing curricula, assessment systems and advanced training at state expense. It is also proposed to introduce increased allowances for the management of resource rooms, classrooms for Informatics and gyms. Everything else it is assumed that teachers will be teaching internship and courses in first aid.
Among the innovations proposed involvement of parents in the selection of the Director of the school, but the competition will be conducted on an independent basis.
In addition, the government propose to introduce a tripartite model of education in the language of national minorities. For example, the Crimean Tatars will be able to learn in their native language to 11 (12) classes together with a thorough study of the Ukrainian language. Transcarpathian Hungarians in the elementary school will be taught in their native language along with Ukrainian. In fifth grade, not less than 20% of teaching time must be taught in Ukrainian increasing to at least 40% in the 9th grade (high school at least 60%).
For the Russian-speaking population it is expected that at least 80% of teaching time will be taught in the Ukrainian language since the fifth grade.
