“We are very aware of the impatience compared to the camping and tourism industry in general”, immediately recognized Geneviève Guilbault. “It’s coming”, she promised.
Gold Quebec still has no date to announce to the campers who are no longer able to wait for the green light from the authorities, while the summer season is at our doors.
Geneviève Guilbault has pointed out that the minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx, “working hard” with public health in order to boost the tourism industry in a safe manner.
“We hear you, and we will find a solution so that people can enjoy nature this summer,” she added.
But the deputy prime minister asked the campers to show patience and understanding. “We can’t do everything at the same time,” pleaded Mrs. Guilbault.
“If you open too many things at the same time, the excess of enthusiasm is going to become problematic and we will pick it up quickly with a company that’s going to work as if nothing had happened, but it is still in the installation of a new social norm.”
Earlier this week, Camping Québec, in conjunction with three other associations, the tourist sector, has asked Quebec a clear schedule to prepare for a reopening.
The plan for the sanitary safety of Camping Québec already has the endorsement of the public health for the past few days. Gold no announcement has been made by the government Legault on the re-opening.
“Our plan has been approved by the public health and disseminated to our contractors there are more than two weeks. They have already put in place all the safeguards necessary to the home safe for their customers. So, why the announcement of the re-opening date soon does it as much to these companies?” wondered the CEO of Camping Québec, Simon Tessier.
Quebec has already given the green light to the resumption of daily activities such as fishing and hiking in the network of the SÉPAQ, but it is still prohibited to take advantage of the tourist accommodation of these sites.
