The government Legault must “raise the flag” for public health deals with the déconfinement of the cultural sector, writes the mp solidarity Catherine Dorion.
The artists and cultural businesses are being hit hard by the pandemic, said Thursday the member for Taschereau in the course of a parliamentary commission virtual.
Aware that the public health authorities have his hands full at the moment, Dorion believes, however, that the minister Nathalie Roy needs to better defend the cultural sector.
“If there is no person to raise the flag, it’s going to be once again in the last and in the back of the pack all the stories of culture, and there, it is particular (because) they are super hit,” is concerned about it. According to the member of Québec solidaire, as the schools will reopen, the raising cultural “in the open air with a thirty people, well-manipulated” could be permitted.
The liberal mp Isabelle Melançon and the pq Méganne Perry-Melançon have also complained Thursday, “the absence of the minister,” since the beginning of the crisis.
Museums and libraries in June?
The minister of Culture has said that it is entirely dependent on the direction of public health for the resumption of cultural activities.
“We expect their recommendations, she said. The public health told us that in culture, the return will be gently, gradually and with variable geometry”.
The number of spectators in the show rooms will be reduced “significantly”. Nathalie Roy “wants” at the very least that museums and libraries to reopen in June.
