The head of the anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office of Moldova has left his post

In Moldova, another high-profile resignation. Has left his post as acting head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor Adrian betisor, transmits television channel “MIR 24”. It Betisor was engaged in investigation of plunder of one billion of the country’s banking system. The reason for the dismissal is not reported.

Earlier, Prime Minister Maia Sandu called for her resignation. As stated by the head of the government, the Prosecutor delayed the adoption of the decision on arrest of the main suspect and his property.

“Yesterday I received a statement from Mrs. Betisor, in which she asks to suspend its work temporarily acting head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s office. It took me a while to announce a new acting, which will run until the announcement of the competition for this position. This morning at the meeting of the anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office, it was decided that the duties will take on Eduard varzar,” – said the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova Eduard Harunjen.

The Prosecutor General of Moldova has also promised that in the near future will publish a report on how was the investigation of the theft of a billion.

Earlier in an exclusive interview to TV channel “MIR 24” Maia Sandu said that Moldova will study the fight against corruption in Romania. “We want to do based on good and bad experiences to understand what to do and what not to do. It seems to us that there are things which suit us. Yes, there is the experience of the United States or France, but what is happening in Romania and Ukraine, maybe more close to our context. We therefore invite trusted experts from these countries,” – said the head of the government of Moldova.
