A goal from Tyler Johnson in the very end of the game helped the Tampa Bay Lightning win 3 to 2 against the Boston Bruins, Wednesday, in the “city bubble” in Toronto.
Due to a tie of 2 to 2 so that there remained less than two minutes in to the meeting, the two teams seemed to be heading toward an extension. Johnson has, however, decided otherwise, beating Tuukka Rask on a generous return to launch with 97 seconds to go.
The keeper of the Bruins was the first meeting of the series in Toronto. Placed in quarantine after having had the cough, he had left the net to Jaroslav Halak in the face of the Philadelphia Flyers. Rask has finally disposed of before three of the 35 shots directed to his cage.
Brayden Point and Alex Killorn were the others able to defeat the Finns, both in the first period. The Bruins had tied it thanks to two goals from Charlie McAvoy and Chris Wagner.
Andrei Vasilevskiy has been less busy than his vis-à-vis in the cages. The Russian was erected in front of 25 of the 27 shots of the Bostonnais.
With two wins in two games, the Lightning is well positioned to be appointed as the first head of series in the Association of the Is. It will have to face the Flyers on Saturday.
Conversely, the Bruins have lost their first two meetings of the mini-tournament. They will try to find the right way Sunday, facing the Washington Capitals.
