The new rules of the ambulance service in Ukraine

Ukraine will have two ambulances: emergency and urgent.

Нові правила роботи швидкої допомоги в Україні

In 2019 Ukraine will start the reform of the ambulance, which will divide it into emergency. This was stated by the Deputy health Minister Pavlo Kovtonyuk, informs Rus.Media.

According to the Deputy Minister, emergency help must come to those cases where there is direct threat of life: for example, a major accident, a stroke in humans. Very often there are situations when calling the brigade ambulance for a fever of 38.5, but when it is really needed in an emergency situation, the machine is busy and no one to help.

The 2019 plan to split the ambulance on two areas – emergency and emergency. “Nextreme emergency is when a person needs help quickly, but non-life-threatening. In Western countries nextreme emergency services will be provided in a variety of ways. There are countries where it is fully entrusted to the patient – he needs to get to the hospital, for example, in the United States. But there most people have cars. If we talk about European countries, then there is a special assistance service, but it is actually all services on the transport patients to the hospital. In Ukraine there is no such distinction: for a temperature of 38.5 in a child rides in case of emergencies. This means that if there is a call for an accident, this car is already occupied. And of 38.5 to bring the temperature down in the morning to come to the doctor, could the family doctor to tell. In extreme cases, the family doctor can go home or to tell parents what to do,” – said Pavlo Kovtonyuk.

In order to make the system work, the health MINISTRY plan to create a high-quality dispatching services. After all, from the Manager will depend on what kind of car to send to the call. Also the Ministry plans to purchase new machines “emergency”. And after that they will be engaged in the reorganization of the system calls. “So since January, no major changes for the patient, then we will only start to strengthen the service “fast”,” – summed up the Deputy Minister.
