The one who was crying under water

Celle qui pleurait sous l’eau

With this third opus of surveys of the commander Tomar Khan, the French writer Niko Tackian invites us to swim with him in troubled waters.

Nicolas Tackian, alias Niko Tackian, exercised all sorts of trades in his life : journalist, editor-in-chief of magazines, cartoonist, screenwriter, tv producer and, as if this was not already enough as it is, the author of detective novels.

You did not read his first two books, Somewhere before the hell and The night is never complete, but we have heard a lot of good. On the other hand, one has read all those that have followed. We can also say that several of them depict the commander Tomar Khan, one of the best leaders of the brigade of the Paris crime.

The good news ? It is not necessary to have read the previous installment to dive head first into the One that was crying under the water : just as the lieutenant Rhonda Lamarck – who, by the way, is the girlfriend of Tomar Khan ! – you will want to really know why the young and beautiful Clara Delattre was required to resolve the veins in a public swimming pool nearby the park Buttes-Chaumont. A suicide from the start obsess Rhonda, because we do not kill this way without very good reasons. And to see more clearly, she will not be able to really rely on the help of Tomar. Without going into the details, so that nothing divulgâcher, this latter has many other cats to whip : even if it has just arrived, the new substitute of the public prosecutor is suspected to be closely linked to a sordid murder case…

In spite of its tone franchouillard and of its dialogues are sometimes a bit artificial, this is a thriller that deserves to be addressed otherwise on the plight of women who have had the misfortune to fall in love with manipulative pervert.
