The Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III invited all the primates of local Orthodox churches to meet in Jordan to discuss the conservation issues of pan-Orthodox unity.”In the spirit of peace, brotherly love and care we treat with the following sentence: in our home, the Jerusalem Patriarchate, we want to take our brothers, the primates of the Orthodox churches, and in the spirit of the canons of the Cathedral, to discuss the preservation of our unity in communion”, – the Patriarch said after handing him in the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior of the award of Fund of unity of Orthodox peoples.He noted that the primates of the local Churches “is a God-given responsibility for the maintenance of the unity of the Church, even if it requires sacrifice”.”We stand before God, and we have no other choice but to make every effort to protect our unity. Take this opportunity to announce that we are opening our doors to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to conduct a fraternal meeting of love, to bear witness before the Church and world the unity of the Orthodox Church and our Orthodox faith”, – said the Patriarch.He assured that meeting of the heads of Churches in Jordan will be given every hospitality, considering “the role played by his Majesty king Abdullah II as the guardian of Christian and Muslim Holy places in the Holy land and what efforts are undertaken by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to ensure such situation in which Jordan is a country where Christians freely perform their prayers and pilgrimage.”The Jerusalem Church occupies the fourth place in the diptych (“list of honor”) local Orthodox Churches, being the most ancient of all. Patriarch Theophilos expressed earlier in support of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius.The patriarchs of Jerusalem Theophilos and Cyril Moscow on Thursday morning celebrated the divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. In his speech Primate of the Russian Church reminded that the predecessors of Patriarch Theophilos times in history cared about the restoration of the canonical order, is under threat.At the end of 2018 at the initiative of the Ukrainian authorities and the Patriarchate of Constantinople was created by divisive structure, the so – called Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU), formed by the merger of two other schismatic “churches.” The ROC responded by stopping Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Later, the DNC acknowledged the hierarchs of the Greek and Alexandrian churches.
