An easy overview of Polish media about Ukraine we would like to dedicate the reaction to the court’s decision on renaming the streets of Bandera and Shukhevych, as well as presentations of books about Stepan Bandera.

In the newspaper Volna Polska shocked by the decision of the Sixth administrative court of appeal of Kiev on the issue of renaming of the Moscow Prospekt and Prospekt Vatutina in Bandera and Shukhevych, respectively. The fact that these historical characters in Ukraine only part of the marginal perceives positively not no secret. For the poles it’s a spooky historical characters involved in the genocide of poles in the years 1939-44. The deaths of tens of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Poland related to the activities of Bandera and Shukhevych.

Shukhevich – a Nazi activist, to talk about which in the context of love for Ukraine is extremely difficult.

Rename Moscow Avenue in Bandera Avenue, according to the authors of the article is the initiative only Vyatrovich. One, now dismissed from the civil service, of a person. That is why the poles are surprised by the decision of the court, which recognized lawful the renaming.

This book is the first scientific biography of Stepan Bandera and the first in-depth study of his life. It is based on years of extensive research in dozens of archives around the world. Author Grzegorz Rossolinski-Liebe embeds the biography of Bandera in the context of European fascism, Holocaust and the OUN.

One of the most interesting elements of the monograph is the analysis of the birth of the cult of Bandera in the 1930-ies.

Grzegorz Rossolinski Liebe historian, working at the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin). He studied at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) (Europa-Universität Viadrina) and defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Hamburg (Universität Hamburg). He was a scholar of the Foundation Harry Frank Guggenheim Holocaust Memorial Museum United States Fund for Fritz Thyssen and the Foundation for the memory of the rebellion of the Shoah. The author of numerous publications on the history of fascism, the Holocaust, nationalism and anti-Semitism.
