Global leaders need to keep the treaties on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. This was stated by Pope Francis in Nagasaki, where in 1945, was dropped a nuclear bomb.
According to the Pontiff, political leaders need to keep these principles guaranteeing the disarmament and non-proliferation, including the Treaty banning nuclear weapons.
“I ask political leaders not to forget that these weapons are not capable of defending against threats or national security or international stability,” said Francis.
The head of the Vatican also called on them to abandon distrust and warned of a possible collapse of the international system of arms control.
