The state Bureau of investigation is seeking to attract the fifth President of Ukraine to criminal liability.
KYIV, November 18. /TASS/. The state Bureau of investigation (RRT) of Ukraine confirmed the information that was transferred to the public Prosecutor’s office (PGO) projects, of the charges, and also on bringing to criminal liability the fifth President of the country Petro Poroshenko. This is stated in the message of the RRG.”Investigators of the Central apparatus of the RRT forwarded to the Prosecutor General the draft suspicious transaction reports (charge – approx. TASS) the fifth President of Ukraine”, – is told in the message. In addition, the Prosecutor’s office sent a draft submission to the Verkhovna Rada about “giving consent to bringing to criminal responsibility,” Poroshenko said.Documents are sent to the pre-trial investigation of criminal case about possible illegal influence on tenders for the selection of candidates for appointment to the High Council of justice in March-may of this year. We are talking about offences under the criminal code of Ukraine “Actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power” and “Abuse of power or official position”. The maximum punishment under these articles – imprisonment for the term up to 8 years.
On Monday, the head of the administration of former President Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andriy Portnov said that the RRT gave the GPU a project about the removal of parliamentary immunity with Poroshenko, as well as bringing him to justice.Earlier, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka declared the presence of criminal cases, in which the former President can be held as a defendant. According to him, this is the case, “related to abuse of power and official position”. The head of the State Bureau of investigation, the novel Pipe reported that the organization has opened 13 cases, involving Petro Poroshenko.
