The Russians banned to keep the house crocodiles, sharks and penguins

Россиянам запретят держать дома крокодилов, акул и пингвинов

A list of wild animals that should be allowed to keep the house, the government has doubled, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the draft resolution.

The document will become another legal act to the law “About responsible treatment of animals”, adopted in 2018. Initially, the list of prohibited animals wanted to make just cobras, vipers, Scorpions and some spiders, seals, walruses and cetaceans animals, leopards and Panthers, cheetahs, bobcats, Cougars and servals, bears, giraffes, hippos, porcupines, ostriches, pelicans, cranes and great bustards.

Now in the list proposed to include pythons longer than four meters, a number of spiders, lizards, crocodiles, Cayman turtles, stingrays, eels, sharks and Moray eels, dogs, dingoes, wolves, hyenas, foxes, wolverines, pandas, antelopes, bison and musk oxen, many monkeys, birds, kiwis, flamingos, penguins, falcons and owls, as well as coral polyps.

The choice fell on these animals for two reasons: because of the risk for the owners and the adverse impact of the unusual habitats on the animals themselves.
