The most popular work of Alexander Pushkin among Russians was “the Tale of Tsar Saltan”. About to write “Izvestia” with reference to the results of a survey conducted by the Russian centre for public opinion studies.
Even at school age the tale read by 85% of respondents, and 34% after graduation. On the second place on popularity was “Eugene Onegin”: 88% of respondents read a novel in verse at school, and 22% thereafter.
Next in the list followed by the poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” (84% and 19%) and the novel “captain’s daughter” (84% and 14%). Less popular was the novel “Queen of spades”. 49% of Russians read it at a young age, and 17% in adult and 35% never read at all.
Previously, the TV channel “MIR 24” to figure out which lines of Pushkin remember the Muscovites. The image of the poet on the street correspondent Sergei Fedorov and together with the passers-by recited all famous lines.
We will remind, this year on June 6 celebrated the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. To this date across the country are preparing exhibitions, performances and other festive events.
