The second wave has started, according to the chief scientist of Quebec

The rise in cases in the province is escalating to the point where three regions could move into the orange zone. According to Rémi Quirion, chief scientist of Quebec, the second wave is well and truly started.

The government should announce at the end of the day Sunday that Montreal, the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches will move to the next level.

“I think we're already there. We have seen increases in the number of cases in recent days, ”said Mr. Quirion.

The one who has held the post since 2011 believes that the population will have to step up its efforts to control the spread of the virus.

“If we want to reduce the intensity of this second wave, we already know the recipe, to a certain point, and as a citizen I think that we must respect the instructions of public health,” added Mr. Quirion.

“The mask, physical distancing is very, very, very important and limiting the number of people in the gatherings,” he explained.
