The Senate of Uzbekistan, headed by Tanzila narbayeva – the first woman to hold the post

The President of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan elected Tanzila narbayeva, reports TASS.

“It is distinguished by integrity, honesty and love for the Motherland. The day before I appointed her a Senator and was nominated for the position of head of the upper house of Parliament,” – said the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoev, speaking at the plenary session of the Senate.

For the candidate of Narbaeva voted 81 Senator, two abstentions, votes “against” it was not.

Tanzila narbayeva has previously worked as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the women’s Committee of Uzbekistan.

For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, the Senate was headed by a woman.
