To reconsider its decision concerning the trip to Russia, including a visit to the world Cup, urged Americans the U.S. state Department. This is stated in the new recommendations of the state Department, UKRINFORM reports.
“Please reconsider your decision to travel to Russia through terrorism and aggression. Some regions (of Russia — ed.) have an increased risk (travel — ed.)”, — stated in the message.
Also, the state Department advises not to visit the North Caucasus region, including Chechnya and on Elbrus because of social unrest and acts of terrorism. In addition, it is not advisable to travel to the Crimea annexed by Russia “through foreign occupation and abuse of authority by the occupying power.” In this regard it is also noted that in the Crimea there is a significant military presence of Russia.
Special attention in the state Department drew on the world Cup.
“From 14 June to 15 July 2018 in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-don, Samara and Saransk will host matches of the world Championship on football of 2018. Large-scale international event like the world Cup, is an attractive target for terrorists,” — noted in the state Department. Therefore, despite the enhanced security measures at the Championship, “the terrorists may try to attack the venue of such events”, — is told in the message.
