A unique cluster of galaxies, PLCK G308.3-20.2 made a telescope “Hubble”. This information appeared on the official website of the telescope, reports Rus.Media.
With the help of the Hubble telescope the team was able to obtain unique images of the galaxy cluster PLCK G308.3-20.2, which is located in the constellation of the bird of Paradise. This cluster is the largest in the whole Universe.
It is known that a large part of the galaxies that surround our universe, like the milky Way are a part of the larger clumps of matter and clusters of galaxies and superscooper. Scientists determined that many of these clusters stretching into the millions and tens of millions of light years and their mass is tens and hundreds of trillions of solar masses, most of the mass is dark matter.
The observations of scientists over the movement of PLCK G308.3-20.2 has led to new scientific discoveries – the discovery of two of the largest structures in the Universe that can significantly affect the movement of the milky Way and its surrounding galaxies, among which were “the Great Attractor” – superscooper of galaxies Abell 3627.
Powderless that the telescope deals with the census of large clusters of galaxies, which will help to fill the gaps in existing information on the “dark ages” at the dawn of adolescence of the Universe.
