The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Belarus increased almost three times over the past year and amounted to $ 450 million, this was stated by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov at the diplomatic reception on the occasion of the independence Day of Belarus, reports channel “MIR 24”.
Cooperation between the two countries is developing in the field of agriculture, engineering, petrochemical, education, medicine, culture, youth policy and sports.
In may the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Lyashenko. The delegation from Minsk arrived in Azerbaijan to launch the Assembly production of Belarusian harvesters and buses. The parties discussed the growth of trade. As Aliev has underlined, in the Transcaucasian Republic highly appreciate the quality of Belarusian agricultural products. Baku is ready to increase the export of tobacco and wine. Also, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
