In Bishkek will be a meeting of the Council of heads of member States of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO), reports “WORLD 24”. The leaders of the countries gathered in the Kyrgyz capital the previous day. This year the SCO presidency passes to Russia.
The heads of state will discuss the further development of the SCO, strengthening practical cooperation on security and stability in the Eurasian space, expanding economic and cultural ties, reported the press service of the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Bishkek on Thursday. He will hold several bilateral meetings.
At the summit, the parties plan to sign a number of documents, including the Bishkek Declaration.
Earlier Putin in an exclusive interview of broadcasting company “the WORLD” told about the principles of work of the SCO. He noted that she “became quite serious and multidimensional regional organization.”
The SCO was founded in Shanghai on 15 June 2001 by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In June 2017, it includes India and Pakistan.
