The organizing committee of the Wimbledon tournament continues to explore all of the scenarios in order of their event, including the possibility of a postponement or cancellation.
An emergency meeting will be held next week on this topic at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, where the tournament run in london from 29 June to 12 July.
In a statement released Wednesday, the organizers warn that it will be difficult to postpone the holding of the tournament as it unfolds on grass. In addition, the opportunity to present behind closed doors has been rejected.
“We are working to make the planning for 2020, said Richard Lewis, executive director of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. A decision will be taken at the emergency meeting.”
Following government guidelines, the site is currently closed and the operations are reduced to a minimum to maintain the surfaces and to ensure the safety.
