The Supreme court has blocked the return of the death penalty
Supreme court of the United States of America on Friday, December 6, the government denied the restoration of the death penalty at the Federal level. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to CNN.
As reported, the Supreme court blocked the execution scheduled for Monday, December 9, and three more executions scheduled in January. The government asked the court to restore the death penalty at the Federal level because of the “incredible cruelty” of prisoners.
In particular, one of the convicts, who had planned to execute on December 9, accused of killing three families in 1999. Among the victims was an eight year old child.
It is noted that the reason for the failure was disagreement about the method of execution. So, the government wants to introduce an injection, which consisted of one substance, and the Supreme court insist on a three-component injection, in accordance with the rules defined in 1994.
