Thousands of cars burn in an airport in Florida
|FORT MYERS | Near 3500 cars have been the prey of a fire Friday in the parking lot of the international airport of Fort Myers in Florida.
A bush fire of unknown origin would have landed in a grassy area near the parking lot, which will no injuries, but several million dollars of damage.

The 3516 vehicles were from rental companies, who have packed the area with vehicles unused due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
“At the time we had brought the first units on the scene, we had 100 cars [in fire], told CNN Melinda Avni, of the forest service of Florida. We lost count after a few hundred.”
Large numbers of police and firefighters in the region have been mobilized to fight the fire, which lasted 18 h.
A large cloud of black smoke could be seen for miles round.
The fire was under control Saturday morning, after having burned six acres, but has not affected the airport.
An investigation has been initiated to understand the origin of the fire.
