Tokayev: Kazakhstan and Armenia have strong ties of friendship and partnership

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Nur-Sultan with the President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan. The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Kazakh leader.

Tokayev thanked the President of Armenia for participation in the Astana economic forum.

“Our countries share strong bonds of friendship and partnership. Representatives of the Armenian Diaspora in Kazakhstan live in harmony with other ethnic groups and significantly contribute to socio-economic development of our country. At the origins of our cooperation is the first President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. Created on the basis of his idea of the Eurasian economic Union contributes to the strengthening of our cooperation. We hold similar positions in such global and regional organizations as the UN and the CSTO”, – quotes the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.

In turn, Sarkisian called for the strengthening of economic relations of Kazakhstan and Armenia. He noted that the two countries closely cooperate within international organizations and in bilateral format.

“I am confident that the establishment of an International financial center “Astana” will contribute to the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries”, – stressed the President of Armenia.

During the meeting the two heads of state noted the increase of mutual trade turnover last year by 30%, agreed in the future to expand cooperation in this direction.
