Today they asked me during an interview:
“How does it feel to go to the Olympics and not be recognized by competing skaters like Margielyn Didal?” So I had to explain to him that I was joking with his caption. My life is weird. pic.twitter.com/RvNQSFy7jt

MANILA, Philippines – Tony Hawk, arguably the greatest skater of all time, has long documented his hilarious encounters with people who don’t recognize him.
It has become a joke among his fans, but someone really took it seriously.
In a tweet, Hawk said he was asked in an interview how he felt that some skaters at the Olympics don’t even know who he is, like a Filipino gambler like Margielyn Didal, in the biggest case of misunderstanding.
Didal, the representative from the Philippines at the women’s street event, posted her photo with Hawk saying “this guy asked me to take a picture with him and I dropped him because he looks like Tony Hawk.”
Hawk, a good guy in every way, had to clarify that Didal, who gained worldwide attention for his contagious energy during the female street competition, was only joking and was in on the joke himself.
“I was asked during an interview today: How does it feel to go to the Olympics and not be recognized by competing skaters, like Margielyn Didal?” published Hawk. “So I had to explain that he was joking with his caption. My life is strange. “
A cursory dive into his social media will show that Hawk, who has a video game franchise named after him, has always been the victim of people recognizing him, but to the tune of “you look like Tony Hawk,” even to people. they don’t know who he is. it is despite its cross-cultural appeal.
