Ankara remains committed to the NATO mission
Ankara’s position on NATO membership remains unchanged, it does not affect cooperation with other countries. This was in the capital of Qatar, said the Minister of national defence of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, speaking about the purchase of Russian s-400 in the context of Turkey’s role in NATO, reports Anadolu.
According to him, Ankara remains committed to the NATO mission.
“We still remain in NATO and we never go anywhere. Ankara’s position on membership in military-political bloc remains unchanged,” he said.
According to Akara, Turkey as a reliable and important member of NATO will continue to carry out tasks within the Alliance.
“The policy of cooperation with other countries in any way is not an alternative to NATO or the EU”, – he said.
