The US, Russia and China should avoid the “threat of trade wars”, which could threaten the world order
This was stated in Beijing European Council President Donald Tusk, reports “Radio Freedom”.
“We are all aware of the fact that the architecture of the world is changing before our eyes, and our shared responsibility to change for the better,” he said.
In addition, he noted that the international community should improve the world order.
“It is a shared responsibility of Europe and China and America and Russia, not to destroy it (global trade order), and to improve it, and not to begin trade wars, which often turned into violent conflicts in our history.”
Tusk acknowledged that the world needs trade reform, but it needs to avoid confrontation.
“That is why I encourage our Chinese colleagues, as well as the presidents of trump and Putin together to begin this process with a thorough reforms (WTO — ed.). Today we are facing a dilemma — to play a hard game, such as tariff wars or conflicts in countries such as Ukraine and Syria or to seek common solutions based on fair rules, ” — said Tusk.
