Two villages in Yakutia threatens meltwater

Two of the Yakut village are on the verge of flooding, according to “WORLD 24”. Human settlements threatened by melt water from the Kolyma river, which blocks a powerful break.

The water level is rapidly approaching a critical point – nearly eight metres. Guard at the site, emergency workers with ready equipment for liquidation of consequences of the flood. Local residents were warned about possible evacuation.

“Upon receipt of a signal to evacuate, you need to collect things and documents, valuables, medications and a supply of food for two days. Then follow the evacuation point to be sent to a safe place. Before evacuation turn off the water, gas, electricity, extinguish the fire,” – said the first Deputy chief of GU Ministry of emergency situations of the Republic Nikolai Ivanov.

In the next few days the ice will reach Yakutsk. According to the forecast of experts, in some areas it is not excluded the ice blocks. And the water level can reach dangerous heights.
