Ukraine also took the first place on growth rates of agricultural imports from the EU.
Ukraine entered the top five countries from which the EU enters the import of agricultural products, informs Rus.Media.
Relevant data published today by the European Commission in research on the state of trade in agricultural products as of October 2018.
“Agricultural imports from third countries for a period of 12 months from November 2017 to October 2018 was at the level of 115,2 billion euros. The most important areas where the EU receives agricultural imports over the past 12 months remain Brazil (12,0) and the USA (11,5), followed by China, Argentina, Switzerland, Ukraine, Turkey, Indonesia, – in each of these countries accounted for from 4.4 to 5.5 billion euros,” – the document says.
The volume of Ukrainian import in EU in the period from November 2017 to October 2018 declined slightly compared to the same period of 2016-2017 years – from 5 billion 390 million euros to 5 billion euros 123, the absolute rate of reduction of volumes of agricultural export to the EU amounting to 226 million euros (-4,9%).
At the same time, Ukraine took the first place in growth rate of agricultural imports from the EU.
“The largest increase in annual terms (in millions of euros) was achieved in agricultural exports to Ukraine (+272, or nearly 16%), Japan (+269, or 4%), Singapore (+227, 10%) and Algeria (+142, +6%). The biggest market for European agricultural products remains the United States, although over the last 12 months, exports declined slightly (-116, -0,5%)”, – informs the European Commission.
Thus, Ukraine occupies the 16th place among the 20 most important destinations of European exports of agricultural products with a figure of 2 billion 22 million euros, which is 15.6% more than in the corresponding period of 2016-2017 years.
