“In order to overcome the current unhealthy situation, it is necessary to abandon the archaic, cold war-era concepts of “containment”, “block philosophy”. The security system should be uniform and indivisible”, – Putin said.
According to the President of Russia, a modern security system should be based on enshrined in the UN Charter and the Helsinki final act, the fundamental principles of interstate communication. These include non-use of force or threat of force, non-interference in the internal Affairs of sovereign States, peaceful settlement of disputes.
According to Putin, the Russian Federation appreciates the efforts of Italy to strengthen mutual understanding in the Euro-Atlantic region. Moscow is always open to collaboration with Italian and other Western partners to confront the real challenges and security threats, including international terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime, concluded the Russian leader.
