World sugar production in 2019/2020 MG will be reduced by 6 million tonnes to 174 million tonnes by cutting production in India to 5 million tons due to decreasing cultivated area and yield.
This is evidenced by the forecasts of the Ministry of agriculture of USA (USDA).
Brazil and India remain the largest producers of sugar.
The USDA predicts that world consumption will continue to grow because of record demand from India.
Exports, according to experts, will remain at the same level, while world stocks are projected to decline 5 million tons to 50 million tons due to the reduction of stocks in China, India and Pakistan.
