© Facebook/Sergiy Leshchenko, the Executive Director of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko claims that the situation of dependence of the Ukrainian economy from the transit of Russian gas, which currently stands at 2.1% of GDP of the state, needs to be changed. On November 12 said “UKRINFORM”referring To the completion of the January 1, 2020, the transit agreement between the Russian Gazprom and the Ukrainian company “Naftogaz”, the parties have already held several rounds of talks, however, a mutually acceptable solution under the new agreement yet to be achieved. Executive Director of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko said that there is a threat that Ukraine will lose transit from 1 January 2020.
“And that could mean that instead of the expected growth next year at the rate of 3.3%, we will have a really economic decline at a -0.7%”, — quotes the words of head of “Naftogaz” edition.
He emphasizes, however, that the modern economy should not be so dependent on transit revenues.According to Vitrenko, the “optimistic” the political scenario at the conclusion of a new transit agreement is that the EU will force Russia to make deliveries of blue fuel in the European conditions.
According to the Executive Director of “Naftogaz” currently, the tripartite negotiation between the EC, Ukraine and Russia, the latter only simulates a constructive process in order to waste time and finish the pipeline “Nord stream — 2”.
