HAMILTON – Two vessels collided on Saturday afternoon in the Welland canal, in Ontario.

The two cargo ships traveling in opposite directions on the same side of the canal linking lakes Erie and Ontario, reported Saturday on Global News.

A video circulating on social networks showed the two vessels the Alanis and the Florence Spirit to move slowly before colliding.

The firefighters union of Welland has posted pictures on Twitter showing the damage caused to the hull of each vessel.

The accident occurred at about 15: 30 or 16 h, according to a witness quoted by Global News.

It is not known if injuries were recorded during this collision.
