The Pats have chosen as many expected, the prodigy Connor Bedard at the top of the draft bantam of the junior hockey League of the Western (WHL), on Wednesday.

The player who will celebrate his 15th birthday in July may change in the circuit next season by virtue of his status as a player exception granted by Hockey Canada.

With the West Van Academy Prep, he scored 43 goals and 41 assists in 36 games during the last campaign, which earned him the title of the outstanding player of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

A few hockey players, including Connor McDavid, John Tavares, and Aaron Ekblad have already obtained the reference to exceptional player since the beginning of the century.

For their part, the Cougars of Prince George, and the Warriors and Moose Jaw have selected the second and third rows, respectively, two-door-color Contact Saskatoon league midget AAA Saskatchewan, is Riley Heidt and Brayden Yager.
