Russia is preparing for the third wave of the transition to digital television. According to the Deputy head of the Ministry of communications Alexei Volin, it will cover 36 regions of the country and will be the largest in its scale, reports “WORLD 24”.
“This will be the scale of the largest switch-off of analogue broadcasting in Europe and the second in scale in the world. Because there was only the Japanese,” said Wolin.
The third wave of the transition to digital is scheduled for June 3. Analog broadcasting is shut off for 62 million people. To date, 50 million Russians of the 28 regions of the country have already switched to digital broadcasting.
Completely “digitalization” will be completed in mid-October.
